VISIT THE WONDERS OF GREAT BRITAIN

It is always good to get away from the mundane pace of life by going on holiday.  To my shame of all the years I have lived in England I have only seen some small parts of it.

So it was with some pleasure to read thatthere are tour packages UK available that will take you to interesting sites all over England and Scotland.  These trips are all undertaken by coach.  There are no planes and trains to catch as your transport will travel with you for the whole duration of the holiday.

From London you will first travel to Cambridge which is a lovely old city, especially towards Christmas time.  You will be able to hear the boys’ choir practising in King’s College.  On fine days the tour starts there with a punt on the river.

You will also visit Hadrian’s Wall which many people thought was the dividing line between Scotland and England and to keep marauding bands at bay.  This has proved to be a wrong assumption and it is much more likely that it was a Roman status symbol.

Much of the wall has survived to this day and it is possible to travel along a great length of it on the footpath that runs beside it.

Nearby is the historic town Jedburgh where St Bede brought Christianity to the British Isles from Ireland.  On the same day you will hit Edinburgh with its many tourist attraction.  This is also where you will spend the night so you can go for a leisurely pint in the evening.

You will travel all the way up north as far as Inverness before travelling down again to Liverpool, Stratford on Avon and Cardiff.  It seems an awful lot of travelling, but within the confines of your touring coach you can strike up friendships with your fellow travellers.

All tours are accompanied with a guide who will fill you in with interesting facts about the many places you visit.

Before you go all the way to Stonehenge you will find yourself in Bath.  This city is the home of the Roman baths which still shows much Roman architecture.

If you have never gone on holiday in your own country you should have a look at information about tour packages UK from http://www.gotimelesstours.co.uk/p0/europe-great-britain/97.htm/

TOURS FOR ALL SEASONS

As we all know, countries in the Eurozone are not the cheapest in which to have a holiday.  Flying is not as cheap as it used to be and hotels can be pricey.  There is, however, one way of keeping costs down and that is to have a look at tour packages Europe.

You will be travelling all the way by coach, which will allow you to see the country side from a comfortable seat in modern transport.  Depending on which tour you choose, you will either arrive in Amsterdam or Paris on the first leg of your holiday.  You are also travelling with other people who have had the same idea as you.  Many friendships are forged on tours such as these.

If you travel by coach you will avoid queues at airports and delayed or cancelled flights and it is a much more environmentally friendly way to travel.  Granted, these tours will whizz you to different countries on a daily basis, but you get to experience a lot of different cultures.

You will travel from Amsterdam via the Rhine valley to Budapest which is a beautiful place, divided in two halves by the river Danube.  It has a good night life and since you will only be there for one night you may want to sample one of the many bars.

I have always wanted to visit Venice and on this tour it is your chance to see this amazing place.  You can spend a whole afternoon exploring the city as you will be spending the night there.

If you do not fancy such a whistle-stop tour, you may want to opt for a seasonal holiday such as Christmas and New Year away from your usual Christmas chores.  Just imagine you will be spending Christmas day in Paris.

Whatever time of the year you will be taking your trip, you should know that tours at different times of the year carry different prices.  It is usually cheaper to go outside school holidays, but if you want to make a family trip, these are also readily available.

Tour packages Europetrips are fun to undertake at any time of the year and to check availability please go to http://www.gotimelesstours.co.uk/p0/europe-great-britain/97.htm

HOW TO TRAVEL SAFELY

If you don’t mind going to a troubledcountry then tour packages to Egypt are currently reasonably priced.  This country also has an abundance of antiquities to admire, the likes of which are not found anywhere else.

It is very advisable to attach yourself to an organised tour, rather than going it alone.  Tour companies take your safety very seriously and safety in numbers is preferable in a country such as this.

If you have a look at some of the websites of tour organisers you will find that there is much information on safety when undertaking a trip to Egypt.  As our Government has not posted any warnings, it seems that if you keep to the advice that such companies give their travellers, you should not come to any harm.

There are several tours available.  There are sight-seeing, scuba diving and beach holidays available.  If you opt for the sight-seeing variety, you will notice that several places are included and that you will do much travelling by coach, train and Nile cruiser.

If you are not partial to scuba diving or lying on the beach all day, your best option is to choose one of the several group holidays that are available.  Depending on your work schedule you can go for fifteen days down to nine if time is pressing.

All of these involve travelling to Cairo for your first stop to make a sight-seeing trip to the pyramids.  If you are brave enough you may want to try a camel ride, but this is optional.

The next day your will be travelling to Aswan where in the 1970s a dam was built to ensure the availability of water to the fertile Nile Delta at all times.  As a result of building this dam, some of the ancient temples had to be moved to higher ground to preserve them for posterity.

This is where you will board the Nile cruiser that will take you down the river, ultimately arriving in Luxor.  There is much to see there ever since Egyptologists started excavating.
