Sites of Historic Interest in England

If you’ve never visited England and the British Isles then you’re missing some of the most important sites in the world. England is steeped in history; we’ve had everything, from crusades to Viking take-overs; we’ve given birth to some of the greatest figures in history, from King Henry the Eighth to William Shakespeare. Below, we are going to look at some of the sites that you must see as part of tour packages UK

Stonehenge & Other Ancient Sites
We have no idea why they built Stonehenge, although there have been many guesses. For example, it appears to be some kind of clock, with some special significance at the summer and winter solstice – maybe the autumn and spring solstices, too. Stonehenge is somewhere that you should visit at least once in a lifetime, but it can be a bit of a disappointment, as it is just a collection of stones. Spend an hour walking around it (you aren’t allowed to touch the stones), then get in your car and head to Salisbury, where you’ll find several points of interest, including Old Sarum Castle – which is a great place to walk the dog, and children will love running up and down the old moat.

Another fantastic place to visit for a taste of Ancient Britain is Lulworth Cove. A stonyseaside resort, you’ll be able to find fossils from animals that existed hundreds of thousands of years ago: a fantastic souvenir from your tour packages UK.

Stratford-Upon-Avon
If you like British literature, then you’ve probably already heard of Stratford-Upon-Avon, this is the birthplace of the great William Shakespeare. Here, you can see the house that he grew up with, as well as take a walk around his old school, which includes his desk and an abacus. Once you’ve visited his old stomping ground, you can head to the river where you can feed the ducks – a quintessentially British past time.

The Jorvic Viking Museum
The Jorvic Viking Museum can be found in York. The museum is dedicated to the Viking crusades. The main feature of the museum is an interactive ride. Here, you sit in a special compartment and ‘drive’ around the displays, while a narrator explains what’s going on. Once you’ve finished at the Jorvik museum, then head into York to see the sights. York is famous for its glass marbles, so if you have kids, be sure to visit the marble shops.

London Dungeons
London is the capital city of the UK, and as you can imagine, has a lot to offer. The London Dungeons is a fantastic museum to visit. Here, you can learn all about the times when dungeons existed under the city of London. Learn about the horrific ordeals that people had to undergo, as well as some of the more macabre sides of the ancient Londoners. If your nerves are up to it, take a ride on the ‘Drop Dead’, which is themed on the gallows. The dungeons is a frightfully frightful place to visit, the best time, of course, is Halloween.

How to See Europe in 9 Days

Europe is a rich and diverse continent. Of nearly the same size as the USA, there are more than 15 languages spoken and many different cultures. Tourists who come to Europe to see the sites are often disappointed when they don’t get to experience the diversity. However, it’s a choice, tourists can either explore one or two countries, or they can skim-visit multiple countries.

To get a good understanding of the continent and its various cultures, the visiting multiple countries is a must. There are many tour packages Europe available for tourists. Below, we have details of one of the most popularitineraries. Here, you will get to visit many of the larger European cultures, and you will get a good understanding of the various cultures.

Day 1: Paris
Paris, as you know, is the capital of France. It is one of the most intriguing cities in the world. Steeped in mystery and majesty the architecture is the best in the world, in our opinion. Some tourists do have trouble with the city. The Japanese in particular appear to suffer from hysteria, which his often brought on by a difference between expectation and reality. Paris is the capital of Fashion and Cuisine, so make the most of it.

Days 2 & 3: Switzerland
Switzerland is home to the cuckoo clock, chocolate and ski. Here, you’ll drive though mountainous countryside – which at times can be scary! Narrow, winding roads, make the Alps a trip to remember. While here, you might not have time to ski, but a toboggan may be in order. You might even have to opportunity to make a snowman, or have a snow fight, in the middle of summer: a surreal experience indeed.

Day 4: Italy
Time for a tower of pizza while visiting a tower of Pisa: Florence is one of the most beautiful places in Italy. Walking tours are popular here, where you can stroll through the ancient architecture and see the sites that you’ve seen in books and on films. With their loving culture, the Italians love to dance and Florence is the place to do it.

Day 5: Venice
Venice is unique in the world. There are no roads in Venice. Instead, you take a boat between houses and streets. You want to go to a restaurant on the other side of the city, then you have to travel by boat. Many people like to take a ride on the gondola, but these are a tourist trap, and cost upwards of £100 per trip.

Day 6: Munich
As you head towards Northern Europe, you leave much of history behind and move into the more cosmopolitan areas, such as Munich. Munich is one of the world’s leading technological centres, and is certainly the technological capital of Europe.

Day 7: Rhine Valley
Visiting the Rhine Valley will give you a good idea of the German culture. Take a boat trip down the river and stop off at historic German towns. Make sure  that you try a bratwurst and a flagon of beer – yum, yum.

Day 8: Amsterdam & the Netherlands
The Netherland is one of the smallest countries in Europe, but there’s a lot to see here, particularly in Amsterdam, where you can visit Anne Frank’s hiding place, until being discovered. The red district is worth a visit, not to partake, but just to see the sight, it is incredible.

Day 9: London
From Amsterdam your tour packages Europe takes you to London. You may want to stay here a few days, because there is so much to see. It’s always better in summer, when the parks are in bloom and the rain has let off.

We hope that you’ve enjoyed your brief voyage around Europe and you can do it yourself by participating in tour packages Europe. To find out more, please visit http://www.gotimelesstours.co.uk/p0/europe-great-britain/97.htm

As a Tourist, What’s there to doin Egypt?

We all know that Egypt is home to the Great Pyramid of Giza, as well as the Sphinx, but there’s much more to see and do ontour packages Egypt, in a country that offers a rich and diverse experience to the open traveller. Below, we are going to take a look at some of the most popular activities.

The Red Sea Resorts
If you have even a passing affinity with water then you have to experience the wonders of the Red Sea at least once in your lifetime. The Red Sea is one of the most spectacular bodies of water in the world. A protected site, the coral reef walls are an incredible site, teeming with spectacular fish and coral. This is something that you need to see to believe. Fish of all colours of the rainbow, coral of all the colours under the sun, it is simply breath taking. This is no exaggeration; it truly is a remarkable site. For this reason, the Red Sea is one of the world’s most popular dive sites.

Diving
As mentioned above, the Red Sea is a popular dive site. If you’ve never dived before, then don’t worry because you can take your PADI openwater diving test in the Red Sea, and it is much cheaper than in the UK. If you cannot afford the PADI openwater, then you can always join a snorkelling excursion. There are many about, but they all work in a similar manner. You take a boat with other tourists, and those people who are strong enough swimmers, and who want to do it, jump off the boat and into the water. The boat then sails off to the rendezvous point, and the group of snorkelers (and divers) swim there. If you do this, then keep an eye out for the porcelain toilets! They’re the relics of a boat wreck, and quite a funny site to see.

Glass Bottom Boats
For those of you who are worried about getting in the water – some people feel scared about being in open water, while other people are afraid of the potential of shark attacks (- which, incidentally is very small, but exists nonetheless) – you can take a tour on the glass bottom boats. These are incredible. They are as they sound boats with glass bottoms. You will be able to see schools of tropical fish as they swim under your boat. This is breath taking.

Sinai Desert
The Sinai desert is a popular destination for tour packages Egypt. You may assume that, as a desert, the Sinai has little to offer, but you would be wrong. There are plenty of excursions into the desert, including:

·         Camel rides: take a tour thought the desert by camel – bring something to protect your bottom!
·         Quad bikes: this is great fun for adrenaline junkies. Groups of tourists take quad bikes for a tour through the desert. Most stop for snacks and drinks, and even an echo shout (-you will just have to wait and see to understand that last point).

Egypt is one of the best tourist destinations in the world. If you love the sun, sea and sand, as well as history, then there is not better country to visit.
